Random thoughts and then an actual post:

- Welcome to the Great Hair Loss of 2008. Right on schedule, my hair is falling out in large quantities at ~12 weeks post partum. If I’m *really lucky* I’ll end up with the uber-attractive receding hairline when the hair at my temples goes. I already have less volume and giant hairballs are clogging the tub, but it’s a small price to pay for my little Boo Boo.

- I’m anxiously awaiting pictures from CHA and BlogHer. Bring it, people. I’m living vicariously through you.

- I’m not linking to it because the video makes me FREAK OUT (ask hubby, I went postal on him for showing it to me), but whoever those teens were who bounced that baby all over the living room deserve to be dropped from the top of a very large building. Let’s see if you bounce, you sociopathic assholes.

OK, this is the point where anyone related to me should stop reading. Go visit your Alizee message board or make a new hip hop mix CD.

Let’s talk about condoms. I don’t really talk about sex-related topics on here, mostly out of deference to Hubby and also because my family does read this blog (Are you still reading, family? Seriously, go watch this.), but I figured this isn’t really giving details about my sex life per se. Just a general discussion with my blog peeps.

So condoms. Do you love them? Hate them? See them as a necessary evil? Because they are necessary. If you’re on the dating scene and you don’t want to end up with the funk in your junk, you have to use a condom. There are WAY too many flavors of rotten crotch to not be safe today. But for those who are in a monogamous relationship, do you use them? Why or why not?

When my mom found out I was getting horizontal with my college boyfriend, she smothered me in an avalanche of pills, condoms, and spermicide. That lasted maybe a month and then we were down to just the pill. I hate condoms. I know guys say “Oh baby, when I put headgear on my spelunker it just doesn’t FEEEEEEL as good!” and the girl is supposed to be all “No glove, no love!”. But seriously, folks, it doesn’t feel as good for her either (IMO).

With that said, there’s an aspect of condoms that I had never really considered before. During a recent discussion on the mom’s board I (am still attempting to) belong to, some of the mom’s said they love condoms for the simple reason of easy clean up. Ya’all know what goes up, must come down and sex without a condom is the gift that keeps on giving. Like hours later, when that gift has left a nice deposit in your drawers. So some women clearly love the glove for it’s no mess properties. Some even said they won’t do the “monkey ooh-wah-doo” without it for that very reason.

So how do you feel about condoms? Feel free to comment anonymously if you don’t want my mom reading about your bedroom habits.

I’m not big on shoes for infants. Probably because my babies were both spring babies. I could see the need for footsie-warming shoes when it’s 30 degrees outside, but not so much during a St. Louis summer when it’s so hot the concrete is melting and so humid the white folks have ‘fros.

With that said, there are occasions when the little tyke just really needs some shoes to complete his outfit. And these little shoes* are just freakin’ adorable. They look way cushy-er than the Robeez and have a lot more styles for boys (why do children’s clothiers think only girls want a cute and large wardrobe?). This pair is my favorite!
